Avon Simply Pretty Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

Hi again..!! :)

I am always on the lookout for new and innovative eye makeup. It’s been a lifelong obsession of mine, fiddling with different ways of darkening and lightening my eyes. After all the eyes is the window to a woman’s soul.

The eyeliner I am currently reviewing is different because it is a liquid one, and is actually a liquid to boot. It’s from a budget range, from Avon which is famous for its value for money products.

Product Description:

It defines your eyes without smudging and lasts throughout the whole day. Its Water Proof formula ensures that it doesn’t wash off due to perspiration or tears, so you can stay clear and kempt always.

How to Use:

There is a brush provided within the package. Just dip it in the product and apply to your eyes in upward and outward motions, till it is spread out evenly over your eyes. Let it dry for a few minutes, and you are set to go.

My Experience with Avon Simply Pretty Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

Avon Simply Pretty Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner comes in a glass bottle with an attached brush to its cap which helps in easy application. However, the brush is not that great, being extremely thin and wobbly which hinders application. Its bristles suck, because after a few uses they tend to get frayed which results in uneven application.

The eyeliner itself has the right consistency for such a product. Semi thick, a single swipe of it builds up intense highlights on the eyelids, and you don’t need to go over it again and again. It does have a highly disgusting smell, but don’t worry, it doesn’t last for long. It is going to last you the entire day as long as you don’t have a habit of rubbing your eyes.

However if you tend to sweat a lot like I do, it does get a bit smudged after a while. Still, you can be relaxed that such a thing won’t happen until at least about 4-5 hours have passed. But hey, nothing is perfect in this world.

Positives

  1. Price. Cheap and good value for money.
  2. Intensely dark color that highlights your eyes better than kajal.
  3. Applies smoothly and evenly throughout.
  4. Long lasting & smudge proof
  5. Dermatologist tested. Causes no allergies unless you are one in a million.

Negatives

  1. Fragrance is below standard.
  2. Not that much waterproof as it claims to be.
  3. Wears off or smudges after 4-5 hours, especially if you touch your eyes frequently.
  4. Brush is useless and frayed. Use your own brush if you have one.
  5. Not easily available. You need an Avon representative, I guess.
  6. Stings when gets in contact with eyes.

Will I use it again?

I have mixed reactions on this one. It’s not that great of a product that I will forego my ancient kajal pencil. It was something new, and I had fun for a few days, especially because it was so cheap for a cosmetic product. If you ask me to recommend this, I probably wouldn’t. I am sure there are other better eyeliners out there, but I do not know if liquid is the way to go. What if a little gets into your eyes by accident? Better safe than sorry.
