Lakme Absolute Plump and Shine 3D lip gloss in cherry shine
I’m not much a fan of lip glosses but when I went to the Lakme counter a few months ago, the SA said beautiful description about this particular gloss and I bought it without trying it on my lips. I regret that moment for I could have rather invested this money in a lipstick, for this gloss is doing nothing but sitting in my makeup vanity bag. Read on to know why it is a disappointment.
Extra shine, extra plump and extra glossy! The revolutionary plum and shine lip gloss contains Marine Collagen and high-shine pigments that keep your lips full and hydrated. Lasts up to 6 hours.
Direction for use:
Apply evenly on lips. If needed use your finger to blend the formula properly.
Rs 450 for 3 ml
- This gloss has a transparent see-through glass body.
- A metallic grey screw cap is attached on top.
- A doe foot applicator is attached to the cap.
- The packaging is sleek and pretty.
It has a thick texture with shimmer particles in the content. The shimmer particles are minute and almost invisible from far away. The gloss glides smoothly on lips but after a few hours it tends to bleed. The shade isn’t much pigmented.
Pros of Lakme Absolute Plump and Shine 3D lip gloss in Cherry Shine:

Cons of Lakme Absolute Plump and Shine 3D lip gloss in Cherry Shine:
- Not suitable for naturally darker lips
- Transfers and bleeds after a few hours
- A little sticky
- Leaves shimmer after it fades off
- Doesn’t last up to 6 hours as claimed
- Too narrow opening, due to which the applicator doesn’t pick up enough product

My experience with Lakme Absolute Plump and Shine 3D lip gloss in Cherry Shine:
I wish I had tried this gloss on my lips before buying it blindly on the saying of the SA. The shade looks opaque and red-like, until actually applying it. The gloss comes in a long glass wand which is sturdy and convenient for travel purpose.
The shade Cherry Shine is a red-like shade but a little lighter which makes it look like a mixture of pink and red. The texture is just fine which minute shimmer particles in it. And since I’m not a shimmer lover, it was a disappointment to me
I have naturally pigmented lips and this gloss fails to hide it. I have to put many applications to get a proper red like color on lips. Too many applications make my lips feel sticky and caked in gloss. But since I don’t like wasting my cosmetics, I use this gloss for a movie date or for casual hang out with friends.
The staying capacity of this gloss isn’t any great. It stays on for some 2-3 hours after which it starts to fade. The most disappointing thing is that it leaves behind shimmer once faded, which looks kind of weird on lips. Also, the gloss transfers and bleeds after meals and drinks which is such a turn down.
Talking of the applicator, it is doe foot applicator which is nice to enhance the color on cupid bow. The applicator stem is quite long and is attached with the cap. Since the color pigmentation isn’t very great, it can be worn over a lipstick.
Overall, it’s not really a must-have product. People who tend to love shimmery lip products may like to try it out, but people who love matte lip products should better not waste money on this one.
I would rate it 4 out of 10
Whether I would recommend this product:
No! I wouldn’t really suggest this product, for its nothing great. Lot better options are available in the market at this price range.
