Lakme Black Satin Kajal Reviews
A good day to you, belle femmes,
I hope you’ve have a pleasurable and relaxing weekend because mine sure was entertaining enough. I spent hours rummaging through my stacks and boxes of makeup, trying to find products that had disappeared with time and stumbled upon this classic beauty. I know this isn’t much to look at but this Lakme Black Satin Kajal has helped my eyes through many tough times. The perfect combination of smooth elegance with the carbon black shade has elicited many jealous looks at different occasions. So here’s my review about this kajal product that still holds a special place in my heart.
A typical pen like structure with eclectic golden swirls and designs forms the basic look for this product. Nothing too special and which hasn’t already been seen, if you ask me.
How to Use:
Pop open the cover and let’s get ready for action. But before that, make sure your lower eye lids are nicely cleaned and oil free since the kajal stick tends to cause a slight smudging as time proceeds. Sharpen the pencil to get a nice sharp tip that allows you to slide the tip with one precise movement along your lower eyelids for a thick, dark finish. Careful to ease up around the edges since any smudging can be a complete pain before it gets removed.
Rs. 150 per piece.
The entire product is composed of a simple pencil like structure with a similarly designed cap that can fit like a glove in the palm of your hand.
The texture is vaguely sticky but that’s what you have to expect with kajal to make it stick, I suppose. A single stroke provides a nice, even, pitch black line that stays for hours on end without disturbed on your lower eyelids. This comes as a plus and a minus since the longer staying power of the product makes it that much harder to rub off and I’ve had a fair share of people asking me the reason for the ‘bags’ under my eyes. I blame it on the addicting kajal world.
Here’s how it looked after I tried it out on my eyes.

Pros of Lakme Black Satin Kajal
- Easy to use and can be sharpened for the thickness of the line.
- Gives a beautifully thick, black shade that lasts for hours.
- Reasonably priced.
- Surprisingly, this product did nothing to cause any sort of irritation to my eyes despite my wearing contacts.
- A slight smudging gives a more dramatic, ‘smokey’ effect on the eyes.
Cons of Lakme Black Satin Kajal
- Ended up looking like a raccoon while trying to wash it off.
- People in humid regions beware since the accumulation of oil automatically led to smudging. I’ve have a good number of fiascos this way.
My experience with Lakme Black Satin Kajal
Despite its flaws, no one can hate a good kajal especially the Lakme Black Satin Kajal. Coupled with a fine, thin eyeliner and a dash of eye shadow, you can look your best at any occasion. This is the only product that my fingers reach out for next to my lipstick when I have to go out in a hurry.
Can easily work with this if you’re someone who loves playing with products to deck your eyes for a dramatic finish. Any sort of eye makeup can truly amplify the clarity of your eyes exponentially. So this product is most definitely recommended.
