Read My Lips Lip Gloss Infused with Ginseng Reviews: BAM!
Spring is in the air and almost every woman is looking for ways to freshen up her looks after the harsh, bitter cold. During this time of the year, women are searching for a natural look with just a pinch of color, very much like cherry and plum blossoms.
I am typically not into lip gloss, but I recently received a sample in my Birch box by the Balm® Cosmetics called Read My Lips. This “lip gloss is infused with ginseng”; In case you’re wondering what ginseng is, studies show ginseng can be mentally stimulating as well as decreasing chances of getting a cold. I guess that last part is a good enough reason to wear lip gloss infused with ginseng- very helpful! There is no fun in having kissable lips and then getting sick shortly afterwards, right?
The lip gloss comes in about eleven different colors, but I received the color “BAM!” in my sample. The shade of the lip gloss is closer to a coral pink and smells very good; like a hint of strawberry. I was actually turned off by the color just by looking at it in the tube, afraid I would look like a clown. For me, it was a little hard imagining the color on my lips pulling my natural look together.
Direction for Use
To apply, simply untwist the black cap with one hand while holding the clear tube o and spread evenly across your bottom and upper lip.
The lip gloss comes in a very traditional tube:
- Very slim
- Clear tube that allows consumer to see color
- Has a black twist cap with the applicator is attached to it
- Design sticker has the brand’s name in comic strip font
- Best kept in cool places
The sample size came with my Birch box, but the original size of the product costs $15.00 according to the cosmetic company’s website for 0.219 FL OZ.
While some sample products are shaped or packaged differently from the original selling size, this particular sample serves its purpose as a smaller size of the actual normal size lip gloss.
The texture was surprisingly not very sticky. It has a slick consistency in the first couple of minutes after the lip gloss has been applied to the lips. Throughout the day, the lip gloss feels light on the lips. It’s not too shiny- just right.
- Not as sticky as most lip glosses
- Clear, meaning no glitter or particles in the product.
Some of the well-known ingredients in the Read My Lips lip gloss are:
- Sunflower seed oil
- Castor seed oil
- Safflower seed oil
- Green tea leaf extract
- Aloe Vera leaf extract
- Panax ginseng root extract.
Which lip type it will suit the best?

My Experience with Read My Lips Lip Gloss Infused with Ginseng: BAM!
As I stated earlier, I was concerned about the color and the gloss attracting unwanted attention to my already full lips. I surprisingly like it a lot. The specific color of this gloss was the perfect addition to one of my natural looks. I have pink lips, but BAM! gave me the color I’ve been searching. I feel that I can wear this lip casually or dress it up, especially during spring and summer.
My overall rating for this product is 3.5/5 stars. The reason is that I actually like the product a lot, I’m not sure if the lip gloss is worth paying $15. I do not live near a Nordstrom, so I would most likely look at spending $15 plus shipping and handling if I were to purchase this lip gloss.
Whether I would recommend this product again:
If the product can be found in a department store or online at a discounted rate, I would recommend someone to try it.
