Lakme 9 to 5 Kohl Ultimate Review
I am a sucker of Kajals. I have used kohls from a number of brands. Recently, I have shifted to gel liners and loving them. Remember Maybelline gel liner post. But of course you will miss the natural and sultry look of kohls if you are using gel liners. Gel liners give a more neat and polished look as compared to kohls. And who doesn’t love a messy sultry look. Well I do.
Now, here is a kohl which I purchased and used long back I guess a year back. Lakme launches its office range in the form of 9 to 5. The range was branded as perfect for office goers. I remember when I went to market to purchase it the SA boasted of even MAC smolder customers shifting to this kohl. So, I was like WOWW…let’s not waste time and buy it.
Read on the product to know if it’s worth MAC smolder or not.

The lakme 9 to 5 kohl is black pencil shaped kohl. I will not say it’s slim in shape as I have paid a good price for this and I demand quantity at this price. The product name, claims and details are mentioned on the pencil itself. The USP with the pencil was that one side it’s the Kajal and the other side you have the Smudger. But the pencil needs to be sharpened which I always feel is product wastage.
The texture of Lakme 9 to 5 kohl is quite creamy. It glides on the eyes smoothly. The texture is really smooth like butter and you are bound to feel quite comfortable even if you have really sensitive eyes. I am a lens wearer and I didn’t feel any discomfort while using this. Since the texture is creamy, it takes some time to set. You can use the Smudger in this time. Smudger is also quite smooth and easy to use.

- None for me.
My Experience with lakme 9 to 5 Kohl-
The first day when I applied the Kajal I was amazed by the smooth butter texture. The Kajal does not feel heavy on eyes at all. Even once it sets you will not feel anything on eyes unlike some Kajals which make your eyes heavy and tired the entire day.
The Kajal is launched under 9 to 5 range and I can assure you that it stays in that time and even beyond that. But it’s only when you stay in an AC environment you will not experience any discomfort. But once you step out to hot and humid weather it fades a bit. And longer your hours outside more the Kajal fades. But even then it does not give scary raccoon eyes. The fading of the Kajal is quite gradual and slow. But still there is a black stain which will ensure that you have Kajal on your eyes.
The Kajal even with sharpening lasted me for 3.5 months which I feel is fine for me. Yes, it is costlier but totally worth the money.
Whether I would recommend this product to others –
Yes of course, for me it’s a cheaper dupe of MAC smolder.
