Winter Skin Care with Organic Products
It is that time of the year again when our skin requires extra attention and care. Winter can be especially harsh and cruel to our skin. We face a lot of skin problems during this season. The most prominent of them being dry rough skin. We need to rush towards our body butters and lotions every few hours so that we can lather them up on our bodies to prevent dryness.
During the winter time, our skin requires powerful lotions and not those thin less dense ones which we use during the summer time. Applying a lotion to our skin is like covering it up with a clothing during the winter months. Thick and rich creams try to go deep within and prevent dryness. No matter how good some of these body butters and lotions are there are still a few organic products that work wonders for our skin during the winter season.

Milk helps in regenerating the skin cells and help heal or replace the worn out tissues. Cleansing your skin with milk helps increase the production and manufacture of collagen in it which helps improve and maintain skin elasticity. Vitamins in milk, Vitamin A, D, B6 and B12, go seep down into the skin and deeply moisturizes it. Using a milk face mask can help repair and get rid of dry, scaly skin.
Just by applying a thin layer of honey on your face can help you improve your skin’s texture in the winter season. The thick, dark liquid also known as Liquid Gold is full of minerals which do wonders for your skin. Honey has been used for centuries now to help repair dry and damaged skin. Honey has natural anti-bacterial properties which also helps get rid of acne. The rich golden liquid hydrates and moisturizes your skin so deeply, that you will not be requiring a separate moisturizer. The anti-oxidants present in honey helps in slowing down the signs of ageing like wrinkles, which occur suddenly in winter, thanks to the dry skin. The extreme moisture provided by honey leads the skin to impart a lovely natural glow as well.

Loss of humidity and excess gain of cold temperature leads to redness, itchiness and dryness in our skin. Since skin is the largest organ in our body, it is very important to be careful of what you put on it because it absorbs and drinks up everything applied on it. Coconut oil goes deep into the skin and helps remove the fine lines and wrinkles and gives the skin back its natural youthful supple look. It also helps in naturally exfoliating the skin outside and leaves it looking much smoother and silkier. It is a wonderful moisturizing agent as well and should present in your skin care routine during the winter season.

Massage olive oil all over your face and body to lock in the skin natural moisture. Areas such as knees and elbows become especially dry during the winter months and olive oil is thick and rich enough to cure it. It feeds the skin the moisture it requires and improves the skin’s elasticity. It also helps get rid of stretch marks.

Like olive and coconut oil, almond oil also has the ability to go deep into the skin and replenish its natural moisture. It leaves the skin feeling extremely soft and hydrated which last for a long time. During winters it can be used as a moisturizer after showers to lock in the moisture. It also imparts a subtle sweet buttery fragrance which is loved by all. The oil, though thick, is not as sticky and greasy, hence making it perfectly suitable for everyday use!
