Winter Skincare Essentials
We love the winter months. We get to experiment with our style and fashion. We get to pull out those super cute winter jumpers, jackets and sweaters which we bought in the summer and stored it away in the cupboards, waiting impatiently for winter to arrive. Now that the wonderful chilly season is here, it time to wear all those colourful scarves and mittens to keep ourselves warm and sip on hot cuppa teas and chocolates.
Winter can cause severe damage to our skin if not taken care of properly. The sun in winter time can be as harsh and ruthless like the summer time. It can wreak havoc by producing dry skin, cracked lips and clogged pores. It is very important to keep the skin moisturized and hydrated at all times.

Invest in good quality lip balms and not the mere fragrant ones. Lip balms that actually do their jobs and don’t require constant applications are the best ones. Our lips become especially dry during the winter. Sometimes they even tear up and bleed, which is very painful. So it is very important to moisturize and hydrate your lips along with your face and body.
Moisturizer for Face and Body
Winter means goodbye thin water moisturizers, hello body butters! The more you moisturize with thick creams and lotions, the happier your skin will be and you will be able to sleep properly at night. Dry skin caused by lack of moisture can irritate you at night so it is best to feed your skin some moisture on a daily basis. Moisturize your face overnight as well and you will receive a baby soft and supple skin the next day welcoming you in the mirrors.
Like your skin, your hair can also become very dry and flaky, resulting in dandruff. It is important to use a conditioner every time you shampoo to keep your long tresses bouncy and soft. Conditioners act as scalp moisturizers and keep the dryness away. Invest in conditioners which actually deliver good results and you wouldn’t need to worry about dandruff all throughout the winter months.

Never leave the house without an SPF no matter how cloudy and dark the weather might seem. The sun is always present in the sky and so are its UV rays. They are just as powerful and cruel in the winter months as they are in the summer month. Layer good strong SPF on your skin to protect it from sun damage and tan so that you can enjoy the sun in the cold.
Water is needed all year around. Since we are not sweating like in the summer days, the intake of water gradually decreases in the winter months, which is not a good thing. The toxins of our body need to leave and since sweat is hibernating we need to rely on other means. So drink as much water as possible to flush out toxins and to stay hydrated from with. It will also boost your energy so that you can enjoy the winter months at your fullest. Drinking lukewarm water warms and conditions yours body from inside making the organs and your mind happy and glowing.
